What is an ArtistCircle?
ArtistCircle is ArtsConnect's way of engaging new and existing artists in an informal, interactive event. Events allow creative minds from a wide range of professional and cultural backgrounds to meet regularly and share information, develop new skills, offer creative challenges and plan various art-related events and projects.

ArtistCircle continues to be a fun and successful collaboration between artists of diverse cultural, professional and artistic experience and we invite you to participate. Artists in all media got together on June 16 at the Port Moody Arts Centre for an informal, networking and idea-sharing event.

Artists in all media got together on May 18 at the Port Moody Arts Centre for an informal, networking and idea-sharing event.
March 2010
We got together at the Poirier Library for an informal idea-sharing and networking session.
January 2010
We got together at the Poirier Library to discuss the many exhibitions and arts activities coming up, potential individual and group projects, and any other topics that arose.
December 2009
We got together for an informal pot luck lunch to celebrate the holiday season.
November 2009
We talked about recent adventures in New Zealand and visited the studio of artis and art teacher Don Portelance on November 25.
July 2009
The special summer picnic session ran on July 17 at Finnie's Garden, Riverview. It was a chance to check in and share news of upcoming shows and other projects.
June 2009
We featured a special session in an artist's home studio June 16.
February / March 2009
A Fine Romance - Taking Art to Heart - this was a group mixed media show, until March 8 at the Plum Gallery in the Port Moody Arts Centre (2425 St. Johns St.). Thanks go to ArtistCircle member, Silvina Lanusse, for organizing the show.
January 2009
We held a potluck gathering to celebrate our 2nd anniversary. It gave us a chance to reconnect after the holidays, check in and share news of upcoming shows and other projects. Hard to believe it's already been 2 years!
October 2008
October's ArtistCircle was held at The Gathering Place @ Leigh Square in Port Coquitlam, on Wednesday, October 15th at 7pm. It was a chance to learn about new opportunities, and talk about the results of the federal election on Oct.14th. We also discussed the ArtistCircle show BY THE BOOK - Creative Interactions with Literature, on during October at the Port Moody Library, City Hall and Arts Centre.
January 2008
ArtsConnect celebrated one year of ArtistCircle sessions with a pot luck dinner at the Community Meeting Room in the Gathering Place, Leigh Square Community Arts Village. We toasted one fantastic year of connecting creative minds of all disciplines for support, inspiration and collaboration. We also discussed an art calendar, an Altered Book Exhibition (at Coqtuilam Library- Poirier), upcoming workshops and opportunities and Pecha Kucha (see www.pechakucha.org). The session was well attended, including a visit from Coquitlam Mayor Maxine Wilson.
July 2007
ArtistCircle members enjoyed picnic lunches and a breezy afternoon at Finnie's Garden at the Riverview Hospital grounds. After we'd had our fill of watermelon, we did a brief walking tour into the upper area of Finnie's Garden, which is maintained by the Riverview Horitcultural Centre Society. Attendees were reminded about the Society's regular guided tree walks at Riverview- more info at www.rhcs.org
May 2007
This session featured a tour of Port Coquitlam's newly opened Leigh Square Arts Village, including the inaugural exhibit called Random Sample- A snapshot of our community.
